New Creations Studio Inc. was first named Shear Changes Hair Design (est. 2004). At the time, I was working for Donna Sullivan at Studio 72 Hair Design. I decided to purchase Shear Changes, but wanted to name it something that would have spiritual impact.
In May of 2006, my daughter Nicole was preparing to graduate. Much to our surprise, she'd decided that she had an interest in cosmetology. She enrolled at Brownstown Vo-Tech in the adult program. She graduated in May of 2007 and joined our team. Our previous salon had limited space, which restricted the amount of services we could offer. So, the search began for a new location.
Shortly after we started to look, we learned about the availability of a beautiful historic building right across the street from our previous location in Strasburg. In October of 2007, we took possession of 11 South Decatur Street. Construction took three months, and on January 3, 2008, New Creations was born! The inspiration for the name came when I found an old t-shirt I'd purchased. The logo on the t-shirt featured the words "New Creations" and a butterfly. This inspired me to name the salon New Creations Studio Inc. Hair and Nail Design Boutique.

Lisa Frankford - Owner/Stylist
Opening New Creations salon was the dream of Lisa Frankford, former owner of Shear Changes. She was able to realize this dream in January of 2007. Lisa, who has over twenty years of experience in the beauty industry, has developed her own personal style of hair design. She specializes in making her clients feel welcomed, pampered, and relaxed. She has also learned to incorporate her superior skills in hair cutting, styling, perming, and coloring into her role as salon owner and employer. Supporting many ministries through her business is a very important part of everyday life at New Creations!
Nicole Brown - Manager/Stylist
Nicole graduated from Brownstown Vo-Tec in 2007, and has been working at New Creations since its inception. She is a very energized and creative young stylist, who enjoys every aspect of her career. Nicole is one who likes to step out with a different hair color or an edgy new style. She is motivated, upbeat, and trendy. Nicole plays several roles at New Creations, such as the salon decorator, merchandising manager, and the resident “techy.” Nicole’s energy and bright outlook are contagious and she has proven to be a lovely addition to New Creations with a very promising future ahead of her!
Davina Gerz - Stylist
Ever since she was a little girl, Davina loved to play hairdresser with her American girl dolls, and her little brother of course! Ever since then she knew she wanted to pursue cosmetology when she grew up. She graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg in 2013. During her senior year, she went to Lancaster county CTC to take on her cosmetology career. After her 1250 hours were completed, and schooling was over, she took the tests and has obtained her cosmetologist license. She loves being a cosmetologist for many reasons, but most of all, Davina loves to make people happy about themselves! She also loves teaching people about what she's passionate about, so this year (2014), she pursued a student teaching program at the Willow Street CTC. After 500 hours, and lots of hard work and dedication, Davina is now a licensed cosmetology teacher!
April Stoltzfus - Stylist
It's no wonder April loves the world of cosmetology! Her exposure to it began when she was a baby. Her babysitter was her great aunt, who also had a salon in her home. She would sit and watch her aunt do hair for hours! Later in her childhood, April's Mom became a stylist and April always enjoyed being in the salon atmosphere! By the time she was a teenager she was giving "kitchen cuts" to brave friends. Following high school, April graduated from cosmetology school and then she worked at the former Natural Identity in Willow Street for five years. Here she grew to be a well rounded stylist, with a knack for razor cuts, men's fades, foiling, up styles, and natural nails! In 2003, she made the difficult decision to leave a "full book" at the salon and make her family her full time job. Now April is thrilled to be back in the business, and overjoyed to be part of the team here at New Creations! She loves the salon's strong focus on serving others, and the refreshing and uplifting atmosphere that we provide!!
